5 Ways to Make Money From Home
Notice that I didn’t include the word “easy” in the title. If you’re looking for quick, easy money, then you may want to stop reading now. On the other hand, if you’re willing to put in some work with the prospect of staying home in mind, you’re in the right place!
First, let me tell you that I haven’t made my six figure salary yet–it might be a while. Hopefully sooner than later… 😉
But hey we all have to start somewhere! And that’s why I’m writing this post: to help you start somewhere.
- Start a blog/website
As a rookie blogger, I’ve come across a ton of resources designed to help start-up a blog. Some of them are overwhelming, even unhelpful. Let’s face it, if you’re new at something, you pretty much just want the basics–a step-by-step that will help you without confusing you! I found the perfect e-books for starting up a blog. What’s more, they’re inexpensive, so it’s a very low-risk approach to starting something new, or just trying it out!
Here they are: Start a Mom Blog and Income Journey E-book by Suzi Whitford. She writes clearly, simply, and has a super-fun attitude that is felt through her writing. Reading her e-books didn’t just help me, they interested me. She had my attention all the way through! This purchase was worth every penny, in my opinion.
Note: If you start a blog or website, be sure to look into Amazing Affiliates.
2. Tutor students
Are you skilled in a certain subject area? Don’t let your gifts go to waste! Help out a neighbor or family friend. Tutors can earn from $40 to $80 an hour, depending on their experience/expertise. That goes for both elementary and secondary level tutors. Imagine a few hundred bucks in your wallet after just a few hours of work!
An excellent way to advertise is, of course, social media. Make yourself look professional by using a clean graphic. It’s great for Instagram or Facebook, and is sure to attract attention and get you some offers!
Download a sweet graphic here (yep, it’s free and totally yours if you want it!)
3. Sell your old stuff
Yard sales can be fun, but are often more work than they’re worth. As an alternative, look into Facebook sale groups. You’ll reach a much larger population and of course it’s very convenient.
Other ways to sell online include thredUP (clothes) and DeCluttr (CDs, DVDs, games, books).
You’re thinking, Oh please, I’m not a teenager anymore!
Yeah I know, but if you’re already packing up for a day at the playground or pool, why not get paid for it? Allowing another kid to tag along is just funneling extra cash into your pocket.

5. Daily Save Plan
This isn’t actually working at all. It’s a saving plan that can get you $1,378 dollars.
What could you do with a thousand extra bucks? I know there’s a list going through your head right now…

These five ideas aren’t rocket-science. They’re risk-free ways to earn the extra buck and reduce the stress in your life. Why not give it a try?
