The Christmas Gift by Brenda Anderson
Christmas is just around the corner! This year is going to be even better than last. My daughter is now old enough to open gifts on her own–I can’t wait to see her face light up with excitement on Christmas morning!
My daughter Rowan adores books. So it goes without saying that I’ll be gifting her with at least a few this year! 😉
Growing up, my siblings and I always received one new Christmas book every December. Some were stories of snowmen, others Jesus’ birth, and yet others of Santa and his reindeer. My mom still has them all on a shelf in her living room!
I decided to keep this tradition in the family. Last year, although she was too young to enjoy it, I gave her a beautifully illustrated “‘Twas the Night Before Christmas.” I’m eager to visit the bookstore for this year’s pick! I know that there are so many great books to choose from…
Really, it’s a perfect excuse to discover new books and authors, in addition to my childhood favorites. It so happens that I was introduced to Brenda Anderson, a previously unfamiliar author. She writes children’s books, such as “The Christmas Gift.” This is a heart-warming story, featuring characters from her very own family’s farm.
My daughter thoroughly enjoyed the pages of this book, and when she’s older I know she will appreciate the beautiful message it shares.
What Christmas books are your favorite? I’d love to hear–I’m always looking for suggestions to fill our bookshelves!
Bye for now,
